Let me take this opportunity to let you know a little about myself.
I was born and raised in a small town in Texas where I learned the importance of strong family values and love for my country.
After I graduated from high school I got accepted into Naval Nuclear Power School where I became a nuclear engineer for the United States Navy. I served the Navy for an honorable six years. Four of those years were spent here in San Diego when I was a reactor operator for the USS Ronald Reagan. I did four deployments in the hostile waters of the gulf supporting operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
After leaving the Navy honorably I went to San Diego State University to receive my degree in Political Science. It was in college where I truly started to get involved in the community.
Since becoming politically active, I have used my activism to ensure people across this city and country are elected. I am proud to be a founder of the San Diego Progressive Democratic club and former President. From being a national delegate for Bernie Sanders in District 53 in 2016 to running my own Progressive political consulting firm, I have been honored to serve as a Progressive political leader here in San Diego.
I have now lived in San Diego for 13 years and have walked our neighborhoods and understand what the residents of District 53 are dealing with. At 33 and as an elder millennial, I feel the urgency of the need to address these issues with meaningful policy. As a community activist, I am already working to find solutions to these issues in San Diego and am ready to bring that fight to Washington.
I’m a working class resident of San Diego; I am still running my consulting firm and am living in Mid-City with my new fiancé, Chyann, son Ryan, and our dog Annie.
I am thrilled for the opportunity to serve as your representative to the US Congress.
